Governance Forum
Board governance is critical to organizational
effectiveness and success. The Governance Forum is a three (3)
week course (one full day per week) that explores the role of
the Board, the duties of its Directors, and the use of
Committees to effectively govern a company. The Governance Forum
has been customized to address the needs of Central Minnesota
companies, both for-profit and non-profit.

| The curriculum of the Governance Forum

Program Manager/Instructor
The Governance Forum is facilitated by
Rick Bauerly. Rick is an
organizer of, investor and general partner in a local private
equity firm that acquires, governs, and grows transitioning
businesses in Minnesota. Mr. Bauerly currently serves or
formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Anderson
Entrepreneurial Center, the Centracare Health system, DeZURIK
Water Controls, and UniqueScreen Media. He has audit,
compensation, governance and finance committee experience, and
has participated on Boards during periods of both calm and
crisis. Mr. Bauerly has completed the “Board of Directors” and
“Making Corporate Boards More Effective” courses at the Harvard
Business School where he earned a Masters in Business
Administration, along with the "Non-Profit Organizations" and
"Policy Analysis and Design" courses at the Kennedy School at
Harvard University, where he earned a Masters in Public
Administration.
Target Audience
The Governance Forum is designed for both for-profit and
non-profit companies that have or plan to create a Board of
Directors or Board of Advisors. The ideal participant is the
Board Chair or future Board Chair, Committee leader, Advisor to
and Partner with Boards.

Price per applicant: $3,000
Companies registering multiple applicants: $2,100
Non-profit organizations: $2,100
Program Schedule
The Governance Forum is offered on: 4 consecutive Wednesdays,
including October 10, October 17, October 24, and October 30, from 8:00 AM to
1:00
PM at the Anderson Entrepreneurial Center.
